We are now a charity!

 

We are delighted to announce that our application to become a  registered charity in the UK has been successful.

'My Zero Carbon Climate Action' is a now registered Charity in England & Wales (number 1208976).

We will stick to our short name 'My Zero Carbon' in most communications.

We will shortly introduce you to our trustees. You will also see a couple of new sections appear on our website.

Some of the advantages of being a registered charity

1. Free software (e.g. Canva design software and our web-hosting fee) and reduced-price software (e.g. Social Bee)

2. Support from local Community and Voluntary Action Network and National Council for Voluntary Organisations

3. Access to a much broader range of grants and other funding sources

4. We will be able to claim Gift Aid on donations from UK tax payers (Adding 25 pence to every £1 donated)

 

We have a lot of work ahead of us, including
1. Creating all relevant policies and strategies (some of these are required by law)
2. Developing a fundraising strategy
3. Starting to apply for funding to make our charity more sustainable in the long-term

 

... and that is all on top of our daily social media activity, producing great content on Climate Change and Climate Action, that is informing, encouraging, helpful, positive and inspiring.
